The historic Challenge Cup, first played in 1896, is Rugby League’s equivalent of football’s FA Cup. The knock out competition sees varying levels of clubs take to the pitch.
The Challenge Cup competition initially involves amateur clubs and professional clubs join in the latter rounds. The Women’s and Men’s Challenge Cup Finals are held at Wembley Stadium every year.
