FC Diez Media announce new General Manager and Brazil Country Manager

Diego Alfieri

FC Diez Media, the IMG-owned business that manages the commercial rights to South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) club competitions, today announced it has appointed Diego Alfieri as General Manager and Pedro Visconti as Country Manager, Brazil.

Alfieri has more than 15 years’ experience in international management across telecommunications, sports, retail and banking. He joined FC Diez Media when it was established in 2018 as Head of Finance and most recently served as the company’s Finance Director prior to his appointment as General Manager.

“Over the past five years, we have had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with CONMEBOL to elevate its media rights, sponsorship, and digital expansion to new heights in the region and help give South American football the spotlight it deserves,” Alfieri said. “I am truly honored to lead the FC Diez team in this exciting new chapter and am enthusiastic about continuing our partnership and delivering further value to our partners and fans.”

Visconti has worked in the market for nearly 20 years and has been with FC Diez since it was established in 2018. He joined as Head of Legal before being promoted to VP & Counsel in 2022. In his new role, he’ll assume responsibility for the strategically important Brazilian market and oversee the local negotiations for rights to CONMEBOL’s club competitions.

“Leading FC Diez in Brazil is a huge honor,” said Visconti. “We started this story five years ago and we are very proud to see how the value of South American football has transformed through our team’s work in partnership with CONMEBOL. We start this new chapter of FC Diez with renewed energy and enthusiasm to continue evolving the federation’s Club Competitions and innovate the fan experience, both on and off the pitch.”

Under the new leadership, FC Diez Media will aim to boost distribution for CONMEBOL’s competitions, with a focus on digital channels to engage younger audiences. The business will also explore innovative ways to reach regional and international football fans to bring even more value to the most prestigious club tournaments in South America.

Founded in 2018, IMG’s FC Diez Media has offices in Asunción, Paraguay, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and São Paulo, Brazil. The business recently renewed its agreement with CONMEBOL to manage the sale of broadcast, sponsorship and licensing rights to the CONMEBOL Libertadores, CONMEBOL Sudamericana and CONMEBOL Recopa until 2026.
